2025 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Barrel-Aged Special Edition Retro Benny

from $48.00

2025 Willamette Valley Barrel-Aged Pinot Noir, featuring the return of the Retro Benny (2018).

A masterfully cellared Oregon red, showcasing a silken texture, bright red fruit, and the elegant influence of premier French oak.

The Story

Every great Pinot Noir tells a story of patience, and our 2025 Willamette Valley AVA vintage is a testament to the craft of barrel aging. Beautifully garnet in color and perfectly medium-bodied, this wine centers around two of Oregon's most iconic heritage selections: the legendary Coury and Wadenswil clones.

To elevate their vibrant fruit character, we tucked the wine away for 12 months in 100% new French oak barrels sourced from the historic Tonnellerie Billon cooperage. This patient, year-long aging process wasn't done to mask the wine in heavy wood flavors, but rather to polish it. Over those twelve months, the new oak worked its magic—softening the edges, weaving in delicate spice, and creating an incredibly smooth, velvety mouthfeel that honors the true character of the valley.

Tasting Notes

  • The Aroma: Inviting notes of fresh red roses and wild violets, layered with a subtle, savory hint of classic Oregon forest floor.

  • The Palate: Graceful and rounded, revealing bright flavors of ripe red cherry and wild raspberry.

  • The Finish: Deeply satisfying and smooth, leaving a lingering impression of sweet baking spices and subtle toasted vanilla.
